Anniversary Trip to San Diego

Jas and I decided last minute to drive to San Diego to spend a few days away for our anniversary. San Diego always has beautiful weather and we really love it there. We stayed right down by the water and had a fabulous few days.

San Diego Zoo! We spent our first day in SD at the zoo. I have to say this zoo is by far the best I have ever been to. I don't even think we covered two thirds of it. We saw so many animal and had such a great day. I hadn't been to a zoo in years and it was really fun to go with Jason.

After the zoo we came back to the hotel and walked all along the water. We checked out all the boats we hope to one day own and walked through the village. We watched a beautiful sunset in the park and went back to the hotel and spent the night chatting at the bar.

Happy Anniversary!!! on the 4th we spent the day over on Coronado Island....so beautiful. We sat on the beach illegally drinking wine and went to a nice Italian place for dinner. After dinner we went back to the beach for the sunset. For dessert we headed over the the SD side of the island and had crepes while looking at the beautiful San Diego skyline.

Our Little Zoo

We had a few incidents this spring at the house. We are told they are due to the fact that we live on a lovely golf course. We've had some unwanted visitors doing some very strange things lately. First the mallards showed up. Landing gracefully as possible in out tiny backyard pool. Hanging out, enjoying the sun, skipping down the side walks etc. They have been with us now for a few weeks no matter how hard Jason tries to scare them away. I guess we are just going to have to deal with them till they decide to head North. Our other little guest showed up about a week ago. Jason was taking out the trash when he came across what he described as the 'Biggest Snake he's EVER seen"...lovely. Sure enough we had to call snake removal to come get a 4 foot California King Snake that was hiding in our yard. She didn't want to leave so she bit Nick as he was retrieving her. He exclaimed over and over what a beauty she was and how he would take it to the zoo to be used for educational purposes....whatever that means. The next day after the snake, I discovered that our feathered friends laid an egg in our pool....kinda gross. It's just one thing after another. Our newest friend is the quail who decides it's time use his mating call at 5:00am right outside our bedroom.

Luke Airshow

In March we headed down to Luke Airforce Base to watch the airshow. We went with Wendy and the girls and then Andy met us there. It was pretty cool we got to see a bunch of different planes and also the Thunderbirds. A lot of the the girls little friends were there and it was fun to watch them playing around. It got pretty loud a few times which scared Kayleigh but it was really fun. Afterwards we went back to the squadron to have some drinks and then back out to watch the night show. Men jumped out of planes with parachutes and sparklers on their feet. It was pretty cool to see them way up in the sky twirling around with big sparklers. Kayleigh thought is was really cool and afterwards her and I went to meet one of them. She told them her name and how awesome it was...haha so cute.
