Our Little Zoo

We had a few incidents this spring at the house. We are told they are due to the fact that we live on a lovely golf course. We've had some unwanted visitors doing some very strange things lately. First the mallards showed up. Landing gracefully as possible in out tiny backyard pool. Hanging out, enjoying the sun, skipping down the side walks etc. They have been with us now for a few weeks no matter how hard Jason tries to scare them away. I guess we are just going to have to deal with them till they decide to head North. Our other little guest showed up about a week ago. Jason was taking out the trash when he came across what he described as the 'Biggest Snake he's EVER seen"...lovely. Sure enough we had to call snake removal to come get a 4 foot California King Snake that was hiding in our yard. She didn't want to leave so she bit Nick as he was retrieving her. He exclaimed over and over what a beauty she was and how he would take it to the zoo to be used for educational purposes....whatever that means. The next day after the snake, I discovered that our feathered friends laid an egg in our pool....kinda gross. It's just one thing after another. Our newest friend is the quail who decides it's time use his mating call at 5:00am right outside our bedroom.

Luke Airshow

In March we headed down to Luke Airforce Base to watch the airshow. We went with Wendy and the girls and then Andy met us there. It was pretty cool we got to see a bunch of different planes and also the Thunderbirds. A lot of the the girls little friends were there and it was fun to watch them playing around. It got pretty loud a few times which scared Kayleigh but it was really fun. Afterwards we went back to the squadron to have some drinks and then back out to watch the night show. Men jumped out of planes with parachutes and sparklers on their feet. It was pretty cool to see them way up in the sky twirling around with big sparklers. Kayleigh thought is was really cool and afterwards her and I went to meet one of them. She told them her name and how awesome it was...haha so cute.

March Get Togethers

Here are some random pics of get togethers in March. We had dinner one night at Mom's around St. Patricks Day and the girls were wearing their cute head bands. Here are also some pics of the girls playing on the swing set.

March Birthdays!

Our Family has a lot of birthdays in March. It's like a never ending party. Barb's then mine in the first week, then a week later Jason and Andy have the same birthday. A week later is Gracie's and then a few days later is Gram A's. So this year we had a little party at Mom's with Joan, Deed and Gram L to celebrate my birthday. We had a very nice cook out on the back patio and Gwen made a cake. the following week we celebrated Jason and Andy's birthday at Gwen's house. Gwen made fried chicken with Ava's help and we both made cakes for our husbands which made for A LOT of berzzert. Grace had a "Tangled" themed party and got lots of really cool gifts. Gwen had a little family party and made cupcakes. Kayleigh did not take her eyes off those cupcakes all night.

Other February Fun

Jason and I watched the girls one afternoon while Gwen ran some errands. We had a great time. Grace and Kayleigh brought over their bikes and after lunch we all went out and rode bikes around the house. Grace was a little speed demon, while Kayleigh peddles that bike so fast it's so cute. The girls kept getting distracted by the neighbors dogs barking in the window. After bikes Grace came out back and help me pick fallen oranges off the ground. Of course then she had to pick a few of the biggest ones she could fine.
